Arthas is the Prince of Lorderon and one of the youngest Paladins. Ardent and short- tempered, he is eager to prove himself to his father. Ultimately, his inner failings allowed the powers of darkness to corrupt him. In a bold, but reckless, attempt to save his people from the undead, he inadvertently picked up the runeblade, Frostmourn, which steals his own soul and irrevocably damns him for all times…

Tools - Photoshop & tablet.
Time - 13hrs+

Edit (23/8/05): Brightened the colours and added a background...this one was the first painting style piece that i’m happy with enough to make it to mmy gallery. i’m slowly getting the hang of painting with my tablet...thanks for bearing with me and my amateurish attempt at ‘painting’ :)

Edit (26/8/05): Revised his head and cape...and + birds.

Ohmygoodness. Simply awesome. I like how you fitted in the skulls. They don't stand out too too much, but yet they blend in and are noticed.

Not to mention the main design is simply kickass.

Damn... this has to be the best rendition of Arthas I've ever seen. Your own unique style fits nicely to this character. My only complaint is that while everything in this is indeed sweet (especially the runeblade.), the coloring is dull instead of dark. I dunno, it might just be all the steel, but that plus the featureless background makes it seem like there could be more. All in all, solid work man.

Thanks for the comments. i agree, it does look unfinished…i may do a update with a proper background when my hand recovers from the 10hr ordeal :P

the costume design, with the skulls and everything, are pretty much based on the original character, so i can't take credit for that ... I’ve only improvised in areas where I wasn’t sure of …but anyway, i'm glade u like it :D
